Dental implants are an excellent solution to replace missing teeth. They can be used to replace one or more teeth and are stable, long-lasting and permanent oral appliances.
Dental implants comprise two parts: the implant post and the implant restoration. The implant post is best described as an artificial “root” of the replacement tooth. Made out of titanium, it is fused to the jawbone to provide proper structure and support for the restoration. The implant restoration is the “crown,” or top, of the tooth and is placed like a cap over the implant to mimic a real tooth. The restoration itself is custom made to match your smile and can be used with the same utility as a normal tooth.
Dental implants will require frequent dental appointments to our office. Our dentist will discuss your treatment plan with you as you progress through the stages of the implant process to monitor your oral health throughout. We invite you to ask questions before, during and after treatments so you can stay informed about your care.
